Low-carb foods to eat

Feeling bored with the typical meals? Want to go out to eat but concerned about your health?

Your solution is here!
Try these hacks to make sure that you can eat well while staying healthy.

Pizza

It is almost a social norm in Sri Lankan society that pizza is bad. Now that is completely not true.

Well, I guess you can’t say that about the modern pizzas. But I mean the Italiano. The thin crust pizza with some spread of cheese and vegetables/proteins. Now that’s completely different from the one most of us get through shops.

This pizza is actually pretty easy to make, so you don’t even need to go Italian-pizza-hunting all over the island.

Ratatouille

This is a veggie mix originated in the French countryside. Simply, it’s a baked stew.

You can have slices of root vegetables, eggplant, etc. and place all of them vertically on top of the sauce in a suitable baking dish.

Having been spread worldwide, it has now changed in recipe. Most of the time it’s still vegetarian, but I’ve seen some recipe which also includes pork.
Either way, all is delicious!

Dumplings

If you think this is that little ball of carbs packed into a soup, you are very much mistaken.

This kind of dumplings are seen to be popular among the EastAsian countries where they celebrate the Chinese New Year.

Yeah, it’s the simple dough but it’s flattened out and a filling is put in, and then you go ahead and fry them for a little while before boiling them. You can use either veggies or proteins for filling, or you can even use both of the types.

These dumplings don’t require much effort, and they’re super tasty as well as healthy!

All-in-one salad

(I just invented this name)

Ok, so all of us have heard of the miracle healer salad, but it’s a question whether all of us like it. Well, there are people who go green when vegetables are mentioned.

But, why on earth should a salad only be of vegetables?

Ta da! This explains it all!
Instead of having only vegetables in your salad, why not add the rest of the nutrients as well? Get in some shredded chicken, mashed potatoes, along with your veggies, and you can have a whole meal out of it?
Isn’t it way better than going alone with the vegetables?

Well, eating healthy might seem hard, but as you can see, they sound much better in this way. First of all remember - eating healthy means having a balanced diet, so you don’t always have to go to the extreme.

But there are moments when you have to go to that - like when you have to go on diets... but cheer up! When you’re finally normal, then you can go ahead and try these stuff, can’t you?
